.profile Consulting Inc. presents:

J2EE Java Development

Description

The Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) from SUN Microsystems combines a number of technologies for building server-side enterprise applications. .profile Consulting Inc.'s J2EE curriculum covers these technologies in depth in two courses, J2EE Fundamentals, and Advanced J2EE Programming.

J2EE Fundamentals:

This course covers the presentation-centric software technologies used to develop J2EE compliant web applications using Java. Web applications are the core component of web based e-commerce and business-to-business transactions. Java is an excellent choice for server-side programming because it is both platform and web server independent.

The core technologies covered in theis course are HTTP, Servlets, JavaServer Pages (JSPs), JavaBeans, and the architectural choices available to combine these technologies to create web applications.

For complete details, see the J2EE Fundamentals page.

Advanced J2EE Programming: Enterprise Java Beans (EJBs), JNDI, JMS and JPA

Using the knowledge gained in servlet and JSP programming, this class will continue to build larger web applications using EJBs. Students will complete the course with the knowledge to build and deploy enterprise-grade applications. Students gain hands-on experience through labs that build an end-to-end, distributed business application with all technologies learned in J2EE Fundamentals as well as this course.

The course will cover the latest EJB specification, including entity, session and message-driven beans, best practice guidelines as well as enterprise-grade application considerations such as security, transaction management and good data modeling.

Students will complete the course with the knowledge to build and deploy enterprise-grade applications. Students gain hands-on experience through labs that build an end-to-end, distributed business application with all technologies learned in J2EE Fundamentals as well as this course.

For complete details, see the Advanced J2EE Programming page.

Course Structure

These courses are organized as a series of half-day modules where each module can be independently scheduled. They can be taught as lecture-only classes where students do programming lab exercises on their own in between class sessions, or if you have a lab environment available, then we can intersperse hands on exercises with lectures to get students started on the labs while the instructor is present.
